VHF Low Band Skip - Sporadic E - Mobile Phone from 1982

Before smartphones and cellphones, there were mobile phones. This is a recording from 1982 of Philadelphia Operator Assisted mobile phone service. This was in the VHF Low band at around 35 Mhz and was received 1600 miles away in Colorado. The recording includes several phone calls from a vehicle accident scene on City Line Ave near St Josephs College in Philadelphia, PA. All of the calls were operator assisted and other switchboard operators can be heard in the background. This occurred during Solar Cycle 21.
