The Managing Director of Kitex Group, Sabu M Jacob, has strongly denied circulating rumours claiming that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a serious notice against him. Addressing the media in Kochi, he clarified that the reports are fake and misleading.

According to Sabu M Jacob, the notice in question is a routine communication sent to over a thousand exporters across India as part of the Central Government’s initiative to ensure transparency in foreign exchange transactions. He emphasized that such notices are procedural in nature and do not involve arrest, detention, or criminal charges.

He further stated that minor foreign exchange differences of one or two dollars are handled strictly under Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, and no punitive action like imprisonment is applicable. Nearly 100 exporters in Kerala have reportedly received similar notices.

Sabu M Jacob also warned that strict legal action will be taken against media outlets spreading false news using the name of the Enforcement Directorate for blackmail or sensationalism. He announced plans to file complaints with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and, if necessary, the Union Home Ministry.
