With the 1st Overall pick of the 2025 MLB Draft, the Washington Nationals surprised many by taking 17 year old Shortstop Eli Willits to add to their young core of players. An interesting prospect, many thought Ethan Holliday or Kade Anderson might have been the pick the Nationals were going to take, but with money and other factors, the son of former Major Leaguer Reggie Willits will be going to D.C. to join James Wood, Mackenzie Gore & Dylan Crews.

The Nationals core is one that many expect success from. After the Juan Soto trade has bore much fruit, the Nationals have been adding much prospect capital and interesting pieces to potentially contend in the near future. After winning the World Series in 2019, they've found themselves near the bottom of the league for some time, but recently are starting to see success come from some of their great young stars.

Today, we will be rebuilding this core around Eli Willits, James Wood, Dylan Crews and many more as we try to bring them back to the heights they reached in 2019, whilst this time, keeping all of the talent that they failed to maintain after their last World Series run.
