Although the first three notes are marked with the same articulation signs, they should sound differently. Keep in mind that there's a triplet feel and emphasize the eight notes on the "off-beat"! The dotted quarter notes on the second eighth note of beat 3 (as in bar 7) is hard to get right. Play tight with the drum groove where ever this note appears (especially in bars 25 to 32).

The tempo is 100 beats per minute. Practice in 50 bpm, putting the metronome-clicks on beats 2 and 4 of every measure. Then you can get faster and play with the CD that comes with the book.
