Sherry Holtz (1999, Sanford, Florida) — Cold Case SOLVED (2024). A preserved knife was re-tested; DNA confirmed Sherry and identified Gary Durrance (her former boyfriend), leading to an arrest, 24 years later.

Holtz, 50, was found on December 4, 1999 in a wooded area of Sanford. The case went cold until detectives re-opened it in 2023, re-tested a lock-blade knife, and got DNA results tying the evidence to Holtz and Durrance. In July 2024, Sanford Police announced Durrance’s arrest in connection with the killing.
