This was done on my Husqvarna lawn tractor but would apply to any manufacturer. I replaced the spindles because the bearings were bad. Turns out, the sealed bearings are unable to get grease into them. If your spindle doesn't have a grease fitting (zerk), you can drill and tap a 1/4-20 hole on the opposite side and screw in a fitting from your local auto parts store.
