How to Prepare skis for Season
How to Sharpen skis at home
In this video I go over the full preparation of a new ski. This includes pulling sidewall, shaping the tip and tail, base bevel and shaping the top sheet. I then tune the ski for the first time, cutting in my preferred edge angles and smoothing it out with diamond stones so it is ready to ski.

How Do I prep my skis to start the season?
I hand tune my skis, this preparation is necessary to expose the edge from the sidewall and second edge so that I can effectively tune my skis.
What do I need to do to a new ski?
This process generally takes 20-30 minutes per edge on a retail ski. On a race ski this process may take you an hour per edge.
I do not get into waxing or preparing the base of the skis int his video. However I always wax my skis 4-8 times before using them.
