Midnight cries in Egypt’s land,
Firstborn breath slipped through the sand,
A throne stood broken, soaked in grief,
A hardened heart brought to its knees.
Chains fell loose in silent pain,
“Go,” he said, through tears and shame,
Freedom born in sorrow’s breath,
Life exchanged for life in death.

But grief turned fire inside his chest,
Regret awakened what pride possessed.

We walked away beneath the moon,
But rage rose fast, the dawn came soon,
Chariots thundered, dust and steel,
The past came hunting what God had sealed.

Horses screamed, the ground it shook,
But Heaven stood where fear once looked,
A pillar of fire split the night,
Standing between us and the fight.
Still they came with sharpened blade,
Blind to the warning God had made.

Trapped by fear, the sea ahead,
Death behind, no words were said.

God said, “Stand still, I fight for you.

Wind of God all through the night,
Fear gave way to holy might.
Then the sea closed, judgment fell,
Freedom sang where slaves once knelt.

But freedom’s song began to fade,
Hunger spoke, and hearts were swayed,
“Why’d you bring us here to die?
Egypt’s chains at least supplied.”
Manna fell from Heaven’s hand,
Still we cursed the Promised Land.

We tested mercy, broke His trust,
Turned His glory into dust,
Golden calves, rebellious cries,
Unbelief before His eyes.

Twelve spies walked the promised soil,
Ten spoke fear, two spoke loyal,
But fear was chosen over faith,
And hope was buried in a grave.

Learning trust through loss and rain,
Every step a lesson learned,
Every fall a heart that burned.
Not punishment, but mercy slow,
A stubborn people taught to grow.
Before the promise could be known,
