With thousands of kilometres of coastline, Indonesia is home to several natural treasures: the largest areas of mangrove forests in the world and the highmarine biodiversity in the heart of the Coral Triangle.
Both ecosystems are under enormous pressure. This is also a serious problem for natural climate protection: mangroves alone store five times more carbon than forests on land! Together with our partner Burung Indonesia and local communities, NABU is implementing projects in Indonesia – for people and nature.
In this film, we follow protagonists such as the mangrove conservationist Umar Passandre. Their fight for vibrant coastlines is inspiring and shows that international nature conservation works!
