To change between free motion quilting and free motion embroidery you need to change the throat plate on the Mega Quilter. The higher plate stops the feed dogs from pulling your project through the machine and instead allow you to manually push/pull the work where you want it to go.
This machine uses this method as it does not have a button to lower the feed dogs.
