My good friend and fellow knapper Tom asked me if I wanted to join him on a trek to get some Onondaga Chert before the weather turned into winter conditions and naturally I was more than happy to join him. He also asked fellow knapper Pat V. if he wanted to come along too. Pat V. lives about an hour and 20 minutes from us so it was great to see him again and have him tag along on this chert hunt. We arrived at a familiar area to us and immediately proceeded to gather and spall as much material as we could find. Here is a look at our day and what I came home with.
