Union Hotel is an independent boutique property that has been recently refurbished into a modern, youthful, and open space. The atmosphere is designed to bring travelers and local hybrid workers together, with plenty of opportunities to collaborate or socialize. The hotel regularly hosts events and community gatherings, including a cozy book club.

One of the highlights is their private restaurant, The Humble Monkey, which serves dishes inspired by global flavors but sourced from local ingredients. While the menu isn’t extensive, it’s perfect for enjoying a quick and satisfying meal without having to leave the property.

The location is one of the best features of Union Hotel. Situated just a 2–7 minute walk from Union Station (depending on which exit you take), it offers unbeatable convenience for anyone planning to explore Toronto using public transportation. For those new to the city, Union Station is the hub of Toronto’s transit system, making this hotel an excellent choice for travelers on the go.

As a solo traveler visiting from London, I found the room size reasonable for the price, especially in a metropolitan city like Toronto. That said, a little more space is always welcome. Rooms come equipped with a mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities, plus a complimentary water and ice jug that can be refilled as needed.

Union Hotel also offers good amenities, including a fully equipped gym with treadmills, yoga mats, a rowing machine, weights, and resistance bands. There’s also a relaxing outdoor patio for guests who want to sit back and enjoy some fresh air. Additional conveniences include secure luggage storage.

What really stood out to me was the staff. They were consistently friendly, polite, and eager to help, which made my stay even more enjoyable.

Overall, I would definitely stay here again and happily recommend Union Hotel to my family and friends.
