The launch of a new briefing paper low carbon fuels for aviation (biofuels, power-to-liquid and hydrogen). This paper demonstrates the breadth and depth of research carried out across Imperial College London which is contributing to developing alternatives to kerosene. The paper assesses the environmental impact of each fuel type, their resource demand, scale-up requirements and indicates policy avenues to promote development of these fuels.
