How to Pack a Heavy Sewing Machine for Shipping

Having shipped over a thousand heavy, vintage sewing machines over the past twenty-some years, I've evolved a method of packing for shipping that works well.
Although there is no absolutely guaranteed safe way to ship a heavy sewing machine, due to Chance and Murphy's law, here's a method that will give you an advantage over the accidental mishandling of your precious machine.
The whole key to this method, because it uses packing peanuts, is to pack everything so tightly that it becomes one unified block. If your packing isn't tight enough to restrict all movement inside, use solid styrofoam instead. A machine loosely packed in packing peanuts will shift inside the box until it comes to either the bottom or one of the sides, reducing or eliminating all protection.
And, by the way, bubble wrap, paper, or anything crushable will not protect a heavy sewing machine from damage.
