Then, like a child running toward light, he rushed to her and embraced Sakineh so warmly, as if trying to reclaim all their lost time in that single moment. The two sisters sat side by side, as though time had reversed—they reminisced about childhood memories on the farm. Today, they rolled up their sleeves again and baked traditional bread. As the sun climbed to the center of the sky, the shadows of the trees grew shorter, but the joy in Ekram’s farm soared higher than ever. It was as if time had paused to celebrate the simple joys of togetherness.
