This is a retro style rocket turned on my wood lathe. It is made from scrap wood from the firewood box. I've got a mixture of ash and walnut. I start by drilling for dowels to keep the blanks straight while gluing up. I am using P.V.A wood glue and it sticks just fine. The turning goes as to be expected....Great that is! I drill 4 holes for the windows and I fit glass beads into these holes after shaping with my multi tool. The fins or tail is made from 3 pieces of ash and are a terrible fiddle to get in the right position. I glue the fins on with epoxy for strength , although if I let my 10 year old get his hands on it they won't last 5 minutes.
