GFP president Vijai Sardesai said the party learned lessons from the election, securing 30,500 votes (27%) across nine seats. He admitted an alliance was needed to channelise anti-BJP votes, added that Salcete proved BJP can be defeated, and said the “friendly fight” concept was not understood by voters.
