The Donauturm (English: Danube Tower) is a tower in Vienna, the tallest structure in Austria at 252 metres (827 ft), and is the 68th tallest tower in the world. Opening in April 1964, the tower is located near the north bank of the Danube River in the district of Donaustadt. This film feautres views of the Donauturm from the surrounding Donaustadt park land. The film then shows the entry into the tower and the ascent up the tower in the elevator, which has a glass ceiling. The film then shows views from the outdoor observation deck of Vienna below, before views inside the tower of the outside helter skelter slide, which is at the top of the tower. From here there are two rides down the slide, which are filmed. The film then features a time-lapse rotation from the top of the tower in the revolving restaurant / café. Following this the descent in the lift and the view through the glass roof is featured before finally the tower is exited and there are some final shots of the tower from the ground. This is an excellent attraction in Vienna and well worth visiting.
