Thanks for joining us for worship! Today’s sermon is given by Rev. David Bisgrove. The sermon text is Ezra 3:8-11.

Israel is underway rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem, but with mixed feelings. While commemorating the temple’s foundation, the elders in Israel cry in disappointment since they remember the more glorious temple now lost, while the younger generation rejoices. Many today would identify with both groups, as upheaval brings much sorrow and loss, but possibly the hope of new beginnings. The foundation for a spiritually and emotionally healthy life is laid in worship, as all our griefs and joys are brought before the Lord, whose “steadfast love endures forever” (Ezra 3:11).
