With the closure of the Ganaraska River to fishing until October 15th, questions swirl with regards to where poachers will go next. Fall is always a popular time to witness some of the most badly behaved in peak form, and this year has been no exception.
Still, what can we as anglers do?
In this podcast I discuss the problems that salmon face during their annual migration, and the problems that law abiding anglers are faced with when witnessing these crimes.
I also touch on the dangers of generalizing the behaviours of those who are depicted as clearly in the wrong, emphasizing that immigration and conduct issues are separate discussions from fishing ethics discussion that anglers can actually contribute to.
