Interview with Charlie Overbey

We caught up with Charlie Overbey about his work with the Navajo Nation, his upcoming album, and more.

The last time we chatted with Charlie Overbey, the world was a very different place. We chatted about his hat making business, Lone Hawk Hats, and his (at the time) recent release Broken Arrow. Fast forward a year and a half later, and life for the milliner and musician (and the rest of the world) couldn't be more different. 

Charlie was working on his new album when the pandemic hit, putting a stop to recording and touring. During the lockdown, Overbey contacted various musicians who had bought hats from him, asking if they would sign them and donate them to a fundraiser for the Navajo Nation. The response was outstanding. Musicians such as Sheryl Crow, LP, Chris Robinson, and many others donated their hats for the auction. They had aimed to raise $10-20k, but as the figures stand at the moment, they have raised over $107k.
