Ruaha National Park Tanzania features several tributaries of the Great Ruaha, and in this 3rd Day Safari Began at Mdonya Riverside Camp. The safari spent most of the day watching a pride of lions that had recently hunted a buffalo, and lay around an old tree peacefully guard the carcass from eager vultures. Several elephant groups are also featured in this day's safari, as well as a large baboon troop and other wildlife. Only time wasted was 30 minutes each way over dirt road to a dilapidated government concession overlooking a backhoe dug pond a few hippos congregate.
