Rare. Expensive. But in terrible condition. This week I was in a bit of a conundrum: to restore or to not restore? It is in a shocking state. Missing nearly all of its metallic red paint. Suffering from ceased up rusted axles. Corroding on the front wing. I felt the benefit of restoring outweighed the what ifs of it being left to the elements. I was concerned that the metal may become weak and brittle where it had corroded, so I opted to restore and revitalise this rare gem. And despite this, initially I was not all that taken by the model. I though it was a bit basic. But once you get there with that glorious, vibrant new paintwork and have painted in those details, it really comes to life. It's a bit of a cliché for me now but it has quickly become one of my favourite castings.
