In this video, I show my DIY BGA rework station built from affordable and widely available parts.
The bottom heater is based on a T8280 infrared preheater,
the top heater comes from an IR6500 station,
and everything is controlled using a PC410 ramp-soak controller, a REX-C100 PID, and PSoft software on a PC.
This setup gives me full control over temperature profiles,
independent top and bottom heating, and repeatable reflow results —
at a fraction of the cost of a professional BGA rework station.
🔧 Main Components Used:
• T8280 IR preheater (bottom heater)
• IR6500 upper infrared heating head
• PC410 temperature controller
• REX-C100 PID controller
• Solid-state relays (SSR)
• K-type thermocouples
• PSoft profiling software
📊 Features:
• Independent top and bottom heating
• Full temperature profiling (ramp, soak, peak)
• PC control and data logging
• Repeatable BGA reflow cycles
• Budget-friendly DIY solution
This station is used for BGA reballing, GPU reflow, console repair, and laptop chipset repair.
