The last 30 minutes of a titanic Munster hurling final that is still talked about and debated in hurling circles over 50 years on.
Some of the greatest names the game has ever seen on display here: Eamonn Cregan, Sean Foley, Eamonn Grimes & Pat Hartigan for the Shannonsiders and Babs Keating, Mick Roche, Francis Loughnane & Len Gaynor for the Premier county, to mention but a few.
However, it was Richie Bennis of Patrickswell who proved the hero of the hour for Limerick, scoring the winning point with the very last puck of the game.
Result: Limerick 6-07, Tipperary 2-18 (att. 41,723)
