Ray Loomis, former Linotype operator and long-time volunteer at the Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI), demonstrates how to clean the matrices, or molds, used to cast metal type. This video was recorded and edited by BMI volunteer Steve Cole in 2016. The Linotype is a Model 8 currently in use at the museum's print shop.
