"Bittersweet": Kalamazoo Township Police Chief retires after 30+ years

After more than three decades of service at the Kalamazoo Township Police Department, including eight as police chief, Chief Bryan Ergang is hanging his hat.

Ergang enters retirement Saturday, and while looking forward to the next chapter, he said he isn’t forgetting all of the people and moments that have helped shape him into the leader and servant he is today.

“I really won the lottery of law enforcement by coming to Kalamazoo Township,” Ergang said. “It's going to be really bittersweet. They've prepared me really well to take the next step.”
