I Overfertilized The Raintree Seedling & Killed The Water Roots !

About 2 weeks ago i over-fertilized the water and last Sunday, while changing water, I noticed a bad smell and realized the problem. At the time, I changed the water again and hoped that the roots would bounce back, but today I decided that the roots were dying and decaying in the water - they needed to be cut. The smell was still there and the water turning cloudy is a symptom.
I regularly make liquid NPK fertilizer from crushed granules and it is possible that the last batch I prepared was a bit too strong or I poured the usual capful but into less water in the plant container. Anyways, I am glad I spotted the problem, understood it & took corrective action before any serious damage was done.
