Getting a feel for the I-153 in IL-2's newest DLC. Really like it!
A 4V4 with
2 I-153 and 2 I-16 |||vs||| 2 IAR-80A and 2 BF-109E7
all without any modifications.
Combat ends at 2:50. The rest is me goofing around and returning to base/landing.
Destroyed 1 IAR-80 and 1 BF-109, both due to eventual engine failure from damage. Critically damaged one IAR-80 (Fuel leak, bullet holes in canopy, disengaged).
I-153 handles beautifully, it is an absolute sweetheart. It is nimble yet stable. The engine provides adequate power and the climb rate is very good. The 4 7.62mm MGs leave firepower desired, you have to rely on damage to fragile systems like radiator lines and pilots.
Very happy with I-153 and the Odessa map. I wish there was an eastern front early war MP server, Virtual Pilots and Combat Box were on their neverending later war western front stuff when I looked.
