The Boss HM2 is a classic, best known for it's chainsaw sound if you max out all the knobs. It has been used for ages especially in death metal but sometimes also in very different genres like shoegaze. The Lichtlaerm Medusa is one of the most versatile takes on the HM2 I've played so far.
Adding a really versatile parametric midband, a cut knob to get rid of rumble and a new Lichtlaerm voiced mode this box packs a lot of features. And yet it was the first one I find really easy to dial in.
