Our students had so much fun at camp learning to feel the beat in this Orff-inspired activity! 🥁🎶
First, they grabbed their rhythm sticks and played along with the music, keeping a steady pulse together. Then, they carried that same sense of beat into movement with a hula hoop exercise: stepping, jumping, and moving in rhythm.
This activity combines instruments, movement, and whole-body learning to help children internalize the beat and connect music with motion. The Orff approach encourages kids to use their ears, eyes, and bodies to experience music fully …. and most importantly, to have fun while learning!
