Pretty simple woodturning project this week, but it sure turned out nice! This is a piece of Colorado Aspen tree, turned to allow a tumbler I bought at Michael’s to fit inside.
After shaping and smoothing the wood on the outside, I applied TotalBoat Fast Set epoxy which, when turned under a heat lamp, cured up in about 10 minutes. This allowed me to sand it down and reapply another couple of coats within a few hours. Then I polished the epoxy resin, but it off, sanded the bottom and boom: one of the nicest tumblers I’ve ever seen!
