Ayyappankovil situated approximately 12 km from Kattappana kottayam route in Idukki District.It is noted for the beautiful hanging Bridge with a length of 200 meter and the old historic sash temple on the bank of Periyar River.In 1960 it was big township ,During the construction of Idukki hydro electric project,township was evacuated by the kerala government.
