Hello my friends. Here is some theory behind the terrain avoidance and how not to crash the airplane into the mountain or other terrain. There are some new systems on modern commercial airplanes that help to avoid CFIT (controlled flight into terrain). TAWS systems like GPWS (old system) and EGPWS (new system) can help pilots to make necessary actions to avoid terrain impact. However those systems are used as a last border to prevent the crash. (CFIT). The main point is not to get into the situation where you need to react to those systems. If you are not deviating from your arrival route and if you follow altitude constrains you shouldn't face the "terrain terrain whoop whoop pull up situation". Therefore the CRM principles are very important if you fly non routine flight in the mountain area.
By the way follow me on Instagram I have up to date uploads there.
