Electronic Configuration
Electronic configuration is the systematic arrangement of electrons in the different shells and subshells of an atom. Electrons revolve around the nucleus in fixed energy levels called shells (K, L, M, N), which are further divided into subshells known as s, p, d, and f.
Each subshell has a fixed maximum capacity:
• s-subshell → holds 2 electrons
• p-subshell → holds 6 electrons
• d-subshell → holds 10 electrons
• f-subshell → holds 14 electrons
