We could not win the previous game. We want to win this time. This time, we have been able to share the pressing methods, I want to show more scenes where we can build good attacks from defence. On the pitch, I want to win more one-on-one situations. As a forward, I feel I need to improve my finishing. Both on and off the pitch, in terms of communication, I think each player should work on conveying their thoughts to the whole team. (When asked, ‘What do you feel playing in Germany?’) "Personally, I feel that the passion for winning is something many Japanese people find difficult to express outwardly, or rather, they tend not to show it much. Going abroad made me feel this even more strongly. I regularly observe that by projecting that kind of energy myself, the influence on teammates is immense. I feel that if each individual gradually brings that out, the atmosphere can shift, and that energy itself generates power. So, I sense there's potential to positively alter what defines “Japanese-ness”. Compared to last time, I challenged myself to speak up more to my teammates and coaches before entering this camp. When I was first selected for the Japan women's national team, I was really nervous and just waited for the senior players to take the initiative. But now I'm gradually getting used to it. I believe that by voicing my own opinions, not only do I improve, but the team improves too, so I'm actively challenging myself in that way. (Asked about her goals) I want to become a player who can score when points are needed. Also, regarding my stamina – maintaining performance for the full 90 minutes without dropping off, which has always been a challenge – I'm gradually getting used to it, so I want to keep working on that. My ultimate goal is to become a player who starts and is central to the team. I believe this is my chance, so I want to deliver results. Both the team and I are aiming to win and improve our performance. (Asked about thoughts ahead of the Canada match) Playing in Japan is incredibly exciting. It's also a great opportunity to grow the fanbase here. I want to work hard to deliver entertaining football for everyone watching.
