The Power of Receiving: Brook 'Queen Bee' Yates at TEDxCSU

Brook 'Queen Bee' Yates lives in The Gathering Place community house in Morrison Colorado. She is the founder of Dance Utopia (a co-creating community to experience self-love) and also teaches adults with visual impairments how to travel safely and independently within the state of Colorado. In 2009, Yates went through an epic journey from which she learned one of the most profound lessons of her life thus far, "The Power of Receiving" -- a topic infrequently talked about in a culture where the phrase, 'It is greater to give than to receive' is commonly heard.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
