In this video I have explained how scientists came up with the structure of benzene an Aromatic hydrocarbon. The pioneer was Kekule a german scientist who had a dream which led to the hexagonal ring structure of benzene.
👉 This is part of my Aromatics series. Make sure you watch the next videos on the structure of benzene, including how Kekulé’s model was disproved and the delocalised model.
I’m Deepa, a UK Chemistry tutor with 13 years’ experience and **3000+ online A-Level hours**, teaching students from the **UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman**. My students consistently achieve:
• 100% A* – CIE A-Level
• 90% Grade 9 – GCSE/IGCSE
• Many now study Medicine, Engineering, Dentistry & Pharmacy at top UK universities.
This video helps you if you're studying:
A-Level Chemistry (CIE, Edexcel, AQA)
IGCSE Chemistry (Cambridge, Edexcel)
GCSE Chemistry (AQA, OCR, Edexcel)
British curriculum in Dubai / UAE / Saudi / Qatar / Bahrain
