Roy Brenner (Edward Binns) is a no-nonsense, seen-it-all plainclothes NYPD lieutenant, and his son Ernie (James Broderick) is a rookie beat cop in his first year on the force. In this pilot episode Ernie is undercover vice. He meets a pretty girl in a bar (Dolores)who takes him to an illegal craps game. To keep out of trouble Delores becomes a CI, confidential informant. But, can she be trusted with the crooked mob, crooked cops, and payoffs? Filmed in the noir style. Takes place in the gritty underworld of New York. An exceptional musical score. This pilot led to the Brenner TV series. Transferred from 16mm b-w film.
