26 ton V8 engine salvage-the winching begins! the big scania wrecker maxed out!

Super Busy part 2 , we get all the exhausts off the roof and loaded for transport and the radiator cooling towers dismantled , then finally get all the damper units out from below the engines and start to winch the giant Ruston engines out into the daylight when things become complicated, ...the edge of the skid digs into the soft tarmac and wedges against concrete.
I have the day scheduled out with big liebherr mobile crane booked, three hgvs booked for transport guys waiting with cranes at our yard and the recovery truck all scheduled for specific times. Things have to go without a hitch!

Of the world's biggest v8 engines !
These generators units were built and supplied by Harland and Wolff Belfast the birthplace of the Titanic. They provided lifesaving backup power to the country's biggest hospital.
The generator alternator unit was manufactured by Harland and Wolff.
The engines are Ruston 8rk3c GEC English electric v8 producing 1400 HP at 750 rpm full load
And 1600 HP at 1000 rpm intermittent load
They are approximately 130litres displacement or 7930 cubic inch.
The engines on its own is about 14 tons.

This engine is still used in ships , tugboats trains and locomotives around the world.
It also is used as generator sets in remote Pacific islands as main power station power generation.
We have them stored in our engineering workshops under gantry crane. They are approximately 25 tons each.
They are complete with large stainless steel exhausts and huge copper core radiators.
They are fantastic piece of northern Ireland engineering heritage being from the shipyard.
And great provenance of royal Victoria hospital Belfast.
