Tamil Nadu के Mandagapattu village में एक ऐसा ancient rock-cut temple मौजूद है, जिसे देखकर पहली नज़र में यही लगता है कि मंदिर “बनाया” नहीं गया—बल्कि एक ही विशाल चट्टान के अंदर से “निकाला” गया है। यह वही जगह है जहाँ Pallava period की rock-cut architecture अपनी सबसे bold engineering approach दिखाती है: no bricks, no wood, no iron framework—sirf stone carving, और वो भी super-precise planning के साथ।

इस वीडियो में हम समझते हैं कि आखिर कैसे शिल्पकारों ने ऊपर से नीचे (top-to-bottom) layer-by-layer carving करके structure को balance में रखा। पहले surface पर layout बनाया गया, फिर measured cuts, drainage path, और support sections छोड़ते हुए धीरे-धीरे पत्थर हटाया गया—ताकि एक भी गलत वार पूरी चट्टान में crack न फैला दे। यही वजह है कि आज भी इसकी walls, pillars, carvings और garbhagriha में एक अलग ही “timeless stability” महसूस होती है।
