Mel Blanc American Express Commercial

Mel Blanc can be considered one, if not the finest, voice actor in history. He acted out most of the Looney Toons characters along with characters on the 'Flintstones' and also, the 'Jetsons'.

Blanc was filming a car commercial for Oldsmobile when his son (also a voice actor) noticed his father was coughing a lot. Blanc's doctor wanted him to stay in the hospital overnight for observation. During the night a nurse forgot to put up a side rail. Blanc rolled over and fell out of his bed. As a result he broke his hip and that injury caused him to have a stroke which killed him 2 days after the fall.

Mel Blanc passed away on July 10, 1989.
