We are visiting Stonehenge and giving you our top 5 tips for The World Heritage property Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites is internationally important for its complexes of outstanding prehistoric monuments. I have to tell you, don't expect to leave with answers to why and how its here but that is what makes the visit here so great. There is mysterious energy in the air.
5. Go first thing when they open or right before closing time to avoid big crowds. This legenday UNESCO site is incredible but sometimes with the crowds it can feel a bit like a historical theme park with all the selfie sticks. Plus your lighting for pictures is better in the early morining or late agternoon.
4. Bring layers. It is hard to be in awe when you are freezing and wet. The weather here is unpridictable. Plus its known for its strong winds and rain. Remember, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad packing.
3. You can splurge and get a behing the ropes tour and walk amongst the stones.
2, Don't skip the visitors center just to catch the shuttle out to Stonehenge. Stick around. We especially loved the 360 movie of Stonehenge during winter and summer soltis.
1. Stick around the Wiltshire countryside. It has cute little towns and rolling hills. Just two miles down the road is Wood Henge and more impressive, 8 miles away is Salisbury cathedral
