Traditional Maltese Date Cake Bite Size Easy Step by Step Receipe

These bite size traditional Maltese date cakes are great for the holidays. Crisp on the outside, moist and sweet on the inside.

Ingredients

Pastry
400g Flour
1 Tablespoon Water (You can also use Brandy)
1 Tablespoon Lard
1 Tablespoon Rose Water (You can also use Orange Blossom Water)
1 Tablespoon Butter
1 Tablespoon Sugar

Have a boil of water on the side to add gradually until the pastry is nice and sticky


Filling

600g Dates Chopped
1 Teaspoon Powered Cloves
1 Lemon Ring, Grated
1 Tablespoon. Rose Water (you can also use Orange Blossom Water)
