On May 25, 2025, Kazumi gave birth to her seventh child, A new member has joined the chimpanzee family at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
The name was chosen through a public contest and was named Kazuki.
Yotsuba, the four-year-old sister, uses tools to clean her younger brother Kazuki's ears. I've seen Ryu, the alpha male, do the same to his own children. I think it's unusual for chimpanzees to use tools to clean other people's ears, but what do you think?
Kazuki has been born for three months, but Kazumi's mother has not yet allowed her sisters to babysit him.
