Paul: Maegen has a gift for letting the wood do the talking. This archtop has that rare quality where everything feels perfectly balanced — nothing overstated, nothing missing. The first thing I noticed was how responsive it is, even at low volumes — you don’t have to push it, just guide it. It’s warm, clear, and elegant, with a voice that lends itself beautifully to everything from straight-ahead jazz to more exploratory solo work. It’s the kind of instrument that feels like a true partner — quietly elevating everything you do.
Logan: Smooth operator. Silky setup, with a neck profile that perfectly strikes the balance of full, round, but not too full and round. An understated aesthetic lets the figuring in the body and neck take center stage, set off with dark ebony throughout. The Bartolini pickup gives you a ton of juicy warmth for amplified play, while the acoustic voice retains a lightness and evenness across the registers that I find equal parts smooth and exciting.
