Deniz Cem Önduygu: KP Brehmer ve Veriyi Kullanmanın Binbir Yolu

Deniz Cem Önduygu, "KP Brehmer: Büyük Resim" sergisi bağlamında gerçekleşen bu çevrimiçi konuşmada, Brehmer’in veriyle –verinin toplanması, seçilmesi, görselleştirilmesi ve yorumlanmasıyla– kurduğu farklı ilişki biçimlerini inceleyerek ve sanatçının kapsamlı üretiminin bir bölümünü bilgi grafikleri tarihi bağlamında konumlandırmaya ve anlamlandırmaya çalışıyor. KP Brehmer’in veri grafiklerinin ideolojik işlevine yaptığı vurgunun, kişisel veri biriktirme ve görselleştirme pratiklerine duyduğu ilginin ve ‘sanat dünyası’na veri grafiklerini çeşitli yöntemlerle dahil etme yönündeki öncü çabalarının değerlendirildiği konuşmada, KP Brehmer’in günümüzde yeni teknolojilerle ortaya çıkan veya merkezileşen birçok sorunsalla temas hâlindeki pratiği benzer güncel örneklerle birlikte yorumlanıyor.

KP Brehmer and the Thousand Ways of Employing Data

Organised on the occasion of the exhibition "KP Brehmer: The Big Picture", this online talk by Deniz Cem Önduygu explored the myriad ways KP Brehmer deals with data – in the way it is gathered, selected, visualised and interpreted – and attempted to recognise and situate a portion of the artist’s rich artistic output within the history of information graphics. Önduygu evaluated the emphasis KP Brehmer makes on the ideological function of data graphics, his keen interest in the collection and visualisation of personal data, and his pioneering efforts in including data graphics within ‘the art world’. In this online talk, the relevance of KP Brehmer’s practice to numerous presently problematic issues that have emerged and become centralised through new technologies was interpreted with similar current examples.
