2025 F1 Bahrain GP qualifying by Peter Windsor

Oscar Piastri not only took the pole for McLaren-Mercedes in Bahrain but also he beat his team-mate, Lando Norris, by nearly half a second. With Norris thus starting down in P6, behind George Russell (Mercedes), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) and Pierre Gasly (Alpine-Renault), the race for Piastri should be a walk in the park. For Red Bull-Honda's Max Verstappen, meanwhile, there were ongoing braking problems and chronic understeer: he starts P7, ahead of Carlos Sainz (Williams-Mercedes), Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) and Yuki Tsunoda in the other Red Bull-Honda. NOTE: Shortly after this video was posted, the FIA announced that both Mercedes drivers would be given one-place grid penalties due to being sent from their garages to the pit lane too early following the Ocon red flag period. The top ten grid order is therefore: Piastri, Leclerc, Russell, Gasly, Antonelli, Norris, Verstappen, Sainz, Hamilton and Tsunoda.
