The 'Dead' Language That Beat Rust & Go For My Server

Everyone told me to use Rust or Go for my server backend. I refused. Instead, I found a 24-year-old "dead" language that offers the speed of C without the headache.
I've been struggling to get the backend working for "Falco" (my Dell 7050 Full Stack Server). C was too slow to write, but high-level languages like Java and Python felt too heavy or abstract. I wanted the control of C with the productivity of a modern language.
After rejecting Go (too simple), Java (too verbose), and Rust (too restrictive), I discovered D (dlang). Created by a mechanical engineer, it’s the perfect middle ground for hardware enthusiasts who need to get code running fast.
In this video: 0:00 - Why reading files in C is a nightmare 0:32 - Why I rejected Go, Java, and C++ 0:57 - The problem with Rust (Safety vs Freedom) 1:24 - Switching to D (The "Eureka" Moment) 2:09 - Code Demo: C context with modern features 3:12 - Why engineers love D (Walter Bright)
Coming Next Week: I'm taking this code out of the editor and into the real world. Subscribe to see how I use D and a Controllino to build an industrial control cabinet for my car's block heater!
