These mashed potatoes are simple to make and perfect for Thanksgiving Dinner, Easter, Christmas Dinner, potlucks/covered dish dinners, or anytime you're needing that Comfort Food Hug!
I'll show you the simple and easy steps that I follow so that even kid cooks can become Masters of Mashed Potatoes in less than 4 minutes!
You, your friends and family will LOVE them just as much as I do.
**Please follow the recipe carefully (the order is important)**
IMPORTANT NOTES:
(1) Once your potatoes have cooked and are easily crushed with a fork (see video) turn off the heat. Finish your potatoes as shown without any further heating.
(2) Add your egg yolks last, after you've mashed/whipped your potatoes until they're just about done. Add them WHILE mashing/whipping. This way the eggs won't "cook" (which can give you little pieces of cooked egg in your potatoes-yuck).
Feel free to add additional flavors (garlic...etc.) if you like.
INGREDIENTS
3lbs Russet potatoes (peeled & cut into 1/2" cubes)
1/2 cup of half n half
4 oz (1 stick) of butter (may sub w Imperial margarine)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
2 egg yolks (adds incredible depth of flavor = "umami")
